UMW Community Forum: <\/strong>Save the date and make plans to attend the UMW Community Forum on January 19th<\/sup><\/strong> at 4pm in Dodd Auditorium.  President Paino will give us an update on the engagement assessment, the budget outlook, and UMW’s plans for the future.<\/p>

January Transfer Orientation and Other Dates:
\n<\/strong>Thursday January 12   New\/Transfers move in & orientation begins
\nJanuary 12 – 14           Transfer orientation
\nSunday January 15      Returning students can move in
\nMonday January 16    MLK day no classes\/UMW closed for staff, too
\nTuesday January 17    Spring semester classes begin<\/p>

Winter Club Carnival Volunteers Needed: <\/strong>The Office of Student Activities & Engagement is looking for volunteers to help out with the Winter Club Carnival on Wednesday, January 18th<\/sup><\/strong>. The shifts are 1pm – 3pm, 4pm – 6pm, and 6pm – 8pm. If you’re interested please complete the volunteer sign up form<\/a> and someone will be in touch with you.<\/p>

UMW Book Club: <\/strong>The next meeting of the UMW Book Club will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on January 18<\/strong> in Lee Hall 414. We will be reading The Wilson Deception<\/em> by David O. Stewart, who will be the first Great Lives speaker on January 24. If you have any questions, please contact Margaret Mock by email<\/a> or at x1017.<\/p>

Athletics to Host Faculty\/Staff Appreciation Night: <\/strong>The Eagle Club and the UMW Athletic Department invite you and your family or friends to Faculty & Staff Appreciation Night<\/a> at the Anderson Center Wednesday, January 25th<\/sup><\/strong>. UMW Women’s basketball tips off at 6pm, Men’s basketball tips off at 8pm. Both play Southern Virginia. All Faculty and Staff will be given a maximum of three additional free admission tickets.<\/p>
