The conference honored Gurganus, the author of <em>Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All<\/em>, <em>White People<\/em>, <em>Plays Well with Others<\/em>, <em>The Practical Heart<\/em>, and <em>Local Souls<\/em>, among other books.
