Winners get reserved parking on campus for the month.<\/p><p><strong>Weight Watchers at Work &ndash;<\/strong> <em>If you&rsquo;re interested in learning about Weight Watchers @ Work, stop&nbsp; by any Thursday and check out UMW&rsquo;s Weight Watchers@Work. They meet from 12:15 to 12:45 in Room 111 on the ground floor of the Hurley Convergence Center. For a recent story about some UMW Weight Watchers Success Stories, go to <a href=\"http:\/\/umweagleeye.wpengine.com\/2017\/08\/24\/weight-watchers-work\/\">http:\/\/umweagleeye.wpengine.com\/2017\/08\/24\/weight-watchers-work\/<\/a><\/em><\/p><p><strong>September Safe Zone Workshops &ndash; <\/strong>The Safe Zone program offers workshops that are designed to educate members of the University community about lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer (LGBTQ+) issues to increase the safety and inclusion of all campus citizens.&nbsp; Safe Zone consists of people who will:<\/p><ol>\n<li>Be understanding, supportive, and trustworthy if LGBTQ+ individuals need help, advice or just someone to talk to.<\/li>\n<li>Not tolerate homophobic and heterosexist comments and actions and will address them in an educational and informative manner.<\/li>\n<li>Have received training and can provide information regarding on- or off-campus resources.<\/li>\n<\/ol><p>Two types of Safe Zone workshops are offered for faculty and staff. The Basic training focuses on terminology, issues related to privilege,&nbsp;increasing awareness and sensitivity, and how to support the LGBTQ+ population on campus.&nbsp;The Advanced training is for faculty and staff who have already completed the Basic training and covers more advanced topics, including bystander intervention.&nbsp; Enrollment is currently being accepted for a Basic training session for any interested faculty or staff member on Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. &nbsp;Advanced training is being offered on Monday, Sept. 18 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is required and space is limited.
