{"id":135480,"date":"2018-04-25T15:09:57","date_gmt":"2018-04-25T19:09:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webarchive.umw.edu\/eagleeye\/?p=135480"},"modified":"2018-07-13T11:40:18","modified_gmt":"2018-07-13T15:40:18","slug":"nabil-al-tikriti-lectures-at-virginia-tech-spia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webarchive.umw.edu\/eagleeye\/2018\/04\/25\/nabil-al-tikriti-lectures-at-virginia-tech-spia\/","title":{"rendered":"Nabil Al-Tikriti Lectures at Virginia Tech &#8211; SPIA"},"content":{"rendered":"<?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><p>On 19 April, Associate Professor of History <strong>Nabil Al-Tikriti<\/strong> spoke at <strong>Virginia Tech&rsquo;s School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA)<\/strong>, in Alexandria, VA.&nbsp; The topic presented was the <strong>global humanitarian system<\/strong> and its impact in the Middle East and other zones of crisis.&nbsp; Attendees included both Virginia Tech SPIA graduate students and undergraduate students associated with both Prof. <strong>Ariel Ahram<\/strong>&lsquo;s class on Global Security (GIA 5514), and the Washington Semester program.<\/p><p>Prof. Al-Tikriti has worked since 1988 in field development and humanitarian relief programs for <strong>Africare, Plan International, Catholic Relief Services (CRS)<\/strong>, and <strong>M&eacute;decins Sans Fronti&egrave;res (MSF) \/ Doctors Without Borders<\/strong> in over a dozen countries in Africa and the Middle East.
