We are excited to announce the following Spring programs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We will be offering a\u00a0<strong>basic training\u00a0<\/strong>on\u00a0<strong>Tuesday, March 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0from 2:00-4:30pm<\/strong> (via Zoom). This\u00a0training\u00a0focuses on terminology, issues related to privilege,\u00a0increasing awareness and sensitivity, and how to support the LGBTQ+ population on campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We will be offering an\u00a0<strong>advanced training\u00a0<\/strong>on\u00a0<strong>Friday, March 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0from 1-3:30pm<\/strong> (via Zoom). The advanced\u00a0training\u00a0is for faculty and staff who have already completed the basic\u00a0training\u00a0and covers more complex topics, including bystander intervention.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We are also in the process of planning a\u00a0<strong>book club<\/strong>. This would be a\u00a0<strong>two-part program <\/strong>offered in the late afternoon on Zoom. We would like to judge interest and availability before picking the dates. We will be reading \u201cRedefining Realness: My Path to Womanhood, Identity, Love &amp; So Much More\u201d by Janet Mock. Safe Zone will provide a free copy of the book to the first 14 people who sign up!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We are also in the process of planning an offering of our <strong>Identity and Intersectionality<\/strong>. The training covers privilege, power, oppression, prejudice, diversity, cultural competency, intersectionality, and allyship. Ideally, participants will have attended at least one Safe Zone workshop prior to attending this training, but this is not mandatory. We would like to judge interest and availability before picking dates and times for this workshop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Registration is required to attend each event, and space is limited.
