Morris &rsquo;11 to his administration&rsquo;s policy office. In her role as special assistant for legislative affairs and policy development, Morris administers the legislative tracking system, coordinates all meetings and leads and develops special projects for the Governor&rsquo;s policy office.<\/p><div id=\"attachment_56061\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 180px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.umw.edu\/news\/2013\/01\/15\/umw-alumna-named-to-gov-mcdonnells-policy-office\/akm2-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-56061\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-56061\" title=\"AKM2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.umw.edu\/news\/files\/2013\/01\/AKM21-170x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"170\" height=\"300\"><\/a>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Annie Morris<\/p>\n<\/div><p>Morris first joined the McDonnell administration in 2011 as an intern and was later appointed as the executive assistant for commerce and trade.<\/p><p>In 2011, Morris was named one of the winners of the national essay competition sponsored by Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, for her essay &ldquo;Persuasion and the Bully Pulpit: Expanded Evidence on Strategies of Presidential Leadership.&rdquo; She was chosen for the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership&rsquo;s inaugural Emerging Leaders Program in 2012.<\/p><div id=\"attachment_56041\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 310px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.umw.edu\/news\/2013\/01\/15\/umw-alumna-named-to-gov-mcdonnells-policy-office\/virginia-governor\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-56041\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-56041\" title=\"virginia governor\" src=\"http:\/\/www.umw.edu\/news\/files\/2013\/01\/virginia-governor-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\"><\/a>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Annie Morris works in Gov.
