As always, the UFC meeting is open to all. University and standing committee officers are especially encouraged to attend, as we will discuss faculty governance for the coming year.<\/div><div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><strong>Meeting Agenda<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I. Call to Order, 3:00 p.m. (Kristin Marsh)<\/p>\n<p>II. Welcome to new UFC members and University committee leadership (3 minutes)<\/p>\n<p>III. Approval of minutes, <a href=\"https:\/\/webarchive.umw.edu\/ufc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/08\/UFC-Meeting-Draft-Minutes-April-14-2021-1.docx\">April 14, 2021&nbsp;<\/a> (2 minutes)<\/p>\n<p>IV. Faculty Governance Organizational discussion:<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"entry-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>Faculty Governance and relationship between UFC &amp; University committees, including suggestions for timing of committee meetings. (also see <a href=\"https:\/\/webarchive.umw.edu\/ufc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/09\/Committee-Minutes-Example-of-Style-and-Content.pdf\">Guidelines for meeting minutes<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/webarchive.umw.edu\/ufc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/08\/Posting-Minutes-and-Reports-on-Committee-Web-Pages.docx\">Guidelines for posting minutes\/reports<\/a>) (7 minutes)<\/li>\n<li>Discussion of <a href=\"https:\/\/webarchive.umw.edu\/ufc\/\">UFC website;<\/a> re-design ideas for user-friendly access to information are welcomed. (5 minutes)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>V. <a href=\"http:\/\/facultysenateofvirginia.org\/\">Faculty Senate of Virginia<\/a>. Please consider taking on a representative role. Meetings are just twice a year, plus the bonus of <a href=\"http:\/\/facultysenateofvirginia.org\/vhead-2020\/\">Higher Education Advocacy Day<\/a> in January.<\/p>\n<\/div><p>VI. On-line course approvals, from Distance &amp; Blended Learning Committee (10 minutes).<\/p><div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>VII. Update on opening plans: Provost O&rsquo;Donnell. Discussion: Faculty concerns about teaching in person &amp; transmissibility of Delta variant. (Item suggested by Jennifer Barry, CPR)<\/p>\n<p>VIII. Start of Discussion: Contradiction between work needed to keep things running and the contract period (time remaining)<\/p>\n<p>IX. Additional points of discussion\/questions?<\/p>\n<p>X.
